Life is fragile. Our time, our feelings and our bodies are temporary but can be captured in sculpture to signify the eternal quality of life. The human figure is the ultimate subject for art. We relate most closely to that which is like us, we view it as ourselves, like a mirror, and therefore figurative art has a power unlike any other to emote the strongest of feeling.
For me sculpture is alive. It is a reminder of who we are, a reminder that we are alive. In the modern world of ever growing distraction, technology and a straying from nature, it is more important than ever to be reminded that we are alive and what an incredible thing that is. For this reason, I sculpt.
